St. Dunstan’s Development Project

We are delighted to announce that we have just received planning permission for our project from Mid Sussex District Council and we are now pressing ahead with seeking a Faculty from the Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches. In the near future we will be launching a fundraising campaign in the village and explaining our hope that the proposed major improvements to the church, the hall and the office will benefit everyone in the local community.

Little Acorns

Please note that there will be no meetings of Little Acorns at either Holy Trinity or St. Dunstan’s during August.

Growing as a Disciple

As we follow Christ we all need to make sure we are growing in our discipleship. Jesus called us not just to go and baptise people but also to ‘teach them to obey all that I have commanded you’ (Matthew 28). Doing the Bishop’s Certificate is a way of doing just that.

Following Jesus is the name of the first year and I will be running a course (with breaks) for 26 weeks. There is a cost (£16 per term) but if there is any difficulty help is available. If you are interested please fill in the form at the back of the Church and let me have it.

Developing Discipleship provides courses that give points towards completing the Bishop’s Certificate. Donna will be running one that looks at the ‘Didache’, one of the earliest Christian writings. Please look at the displays at the back of each Church or ask Pauline Ingram (HT) or Fiona Rogers (StD).

Coffee Duties

In Holy Trinity we do most urgently need more volunteers to undertake Coffee duties after the 10am Sunday morning services. Could you, or would you, willingly help? If so, please contact David S-J telephone 822392 or see him after any 10am service. It would not be more than once a month, if that.

Cleaning at Holy Trinity

We need an extra pair of hands to help with the regular cleaning at the Church. If you can spare an hour or two a week please speak to Jean Holden (823387). Also a brass cleaner is required – please speak to Jean if you are able to take on this task.

Lifts to Church

For anyone who has difficulty attending services at Holy Trinity or St. Dunstan’s and would like a lift, please contact Pauline Ingram for Holy Trinity (822439) or Sue Rolley for St. Dunstan’s. Pauline and Sue are now going to arrange all lifts for the two churches.

Gift Bags

Alison Bellack has some Gift Bags made by the street children in India. They are made of local newspapers and cost 50p. Alison has a small stock and the proceeds will go to the street children. Contact 824208
